Belvedere News and Announcements - April 12, 2024

solar eclipse

Belvedere students sported special glasses this week to safely observe the solar eclipse.

From the Administration

Dear Belvedere Family:

This week at Belvedere has been filled with wonder and excitement!

We began the week with a truly awe-inspiring experience – a school-wide viewing of the solar eclipse!  A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped make this event safe, educational, and unforgettable for our students.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming two large groups of rising kindergarteners from ACCA preschool this week. They explored the cafeteria, playgrounds, library, gym, and of course, the kindergarten classrooms.

Finally, as April marks the Month of the Military Child, we encourage our entire school community to wear purple on Wednesday, April 17th, for Purple Up Day. Let's come together and show our unwavering support for our incredible military families.

We wish you a wonderful weekend!

Best regards,

Cecilia Vanderhye, Principal

Tara Boone, Assistant Principal

Kelly Cabezas, Assistant Principal

Purple Up! Day

To show our support for all our military-connected families, we are inviting all Fairfax County students, families, school employees, and community members to “Purple Up!” on April 17  for military children. Why purple? Purple symbolizes all branches of the military as a combination of Army green, Marine Corps red, and Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force and Space Force blue.
