Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses can walk into the medical center to learn about open positions, tour the facility, complete interviews on the spot, and learn about benefits. Applicants should bring their resume and references.
“Nurses are the backbone of Veteran’s healthcare, providing compassionate and skilled care to those who served our country,” said Tysa Ferguson, Nurse Executive. “We’re looking for nurses who want to serve our nation’s heroes, the most appreciative population you will serve. Together, we will cultivate an environment of excellence, innovation and service for our Veterans and families.”
Nurses are especially needed for our community living centers, which provide rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, and hospice. The community living centers are located within the Grand Island VA Medical Center and within CHI Midlands Hospital in Papillion.
VA Nebraska-Western Iowa is recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Pathways to Excellence organization, a designation for hospitals that provide a positive, supportive work environment, high job satisfaction, and better work-life balance.
