1. Free Entitlement Summer Term Estimates – Reminder (FE Providers Only)
The Online Provider
Portal (OPP) is now open for you to
submit your summer term estimates for Free Entitlement (FE) 2,
3 and 4 Year Olds.
Headcount Day for
summer term is 3 May 2018.
For help
and guidance, and to submit your claims go to www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal
The
deadline for estimate submissions is Friday
16 March 2018.
Please
refer to the broadcast sent on Wednesday 28 February for further information.

2. Business Conference Parking Permit
Brinsbury College have
recently informed us that due to a change in policy all attendees for the
Business Conference need to display a COLOUR parking permit and follow the
guidelines below:
•Print the attached permit in
colour, add on the vehicle registration and display it clearly in the
windscreen;
•Parking is free if a
completed, colour permit is displayed;
•Please park in a designated
bay within bay markings;
•Blue badge holders only are
authorised to park in disabled bays. Blue badge holders are not required to display
a permit.
If you do not have access to a colour printer,
we will have a limited number of permits available at Registration.

3. 2018 – 2019 Training and Support Programme
The 2018 – 2019 Training and
Support Programme opens on Tuesday 3 April 2018.
If you join the Training
Subscription Scheme:
- We can offer your
setting a set number of training places that you can use flexibily for staff.
- You will have
access to an increased number of courses available on offer with improved
spread across West Sussex.
- You will be able to
access a comprehensive range of online training at a discounted rate of £5 per
person.
We have currently been sourcing
new courses through the tender. Some of the new courses we are running include:
- Practical Steps
Positive Outcomes
- Co-ordinating SEND
Support
- Me and My Team
- Environments for
Learning
- Supporting
Children’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing
We will email all settings to
let you know when the Training Subscription Scheme opens, what the rates will
be and how you can join in the next couple of weeks.
If you are not part of
the training subscription you can still access most of the training courses for
approximately £50 per person per place. Full details of this will be
communicated on 3 April 2018.
4. Bognor Regis Nursery School Conference 2018 (Day Nurseries, Pre-School Playgroups, and Childminders Only)
Bookings for our
Bognor Regis Nursery School Sumer Conference are now open! Come and join us for
our Loose Parts Conference: Messy Maths - An Outdoor Open Ended Approach with
Keynote speaker Juliet Robertson and workshop leader Julie Mountain.
It
will be taking place at The University of Chichester, Bognor Regis Campus on
Thursday 19 April 2017. You can book
your place using the attached booking form by the deadline of 16 March.

5. Minding the Gap
Early Years Conference 2018
Following the success of Minding the
Gap 2017, which was Highly Commended at the Nursery World Awards 2017, we
are delighted that this Early Years Conference will be returning to the
University of Brighton on Saturday 28 April 2018.
This conference has been designed to be inclusive to
all Early Years Practitioners, including Childminders. We have fantastic
keynote speakers: Neil Leitch from the Preschool Learning Alliance, a staunch
advocate for the Early Years workforce; and Dr Jools Page, now Senior Lecturer
at the University of Brighton and founder of the Professional Love programme.
There will be a choice of three workshops from a
selection that includes Mine Conkbayir, Funky Feet, Chatta, John Warren and
Cheryl Bedding; Little Signers; and The adventures of Brian.
The marketplace includes the popular 'toy man' from
Commotion Distribution; Books Education with discounts on the day; Morton
Michel; Kinderly; Preschool Learning Alliance; Foundation Focus; Peeple; Nexus;
and more to be confirmed.
As before we have strived to ensure this conference is
affordable and our Early Bird price is just £75 (extended for West Sussex providers until 1 April 2018) including a
buffet lunch and refreshments and goody bags sponsored by Butterfly Print and
the Preschool Learning Alliance.
