1. Free Entitlement Spring Term Estimates – now open

The Online Provider Portal (OPP) is open for you to submit Spring term estimates for Free Entitlement (FE) 2, 3 and 4 Year Olds: www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal

*New YouTube video help guide available - click here to view* Our quick and easy video guide explains how estimate payments work, and then shows you how to submit your estimate claim via the OPP. We hope you find this useful and welcome any feedback! Alternatively, you can use the Estimate help guide PDF version.

The deadline for estimate submissions is 13 December 2017. You must have submitted your estimate claims through the OPP by this deadline in order to receive 70% of funding in advance of the Spring term.

Please do not submit your actual data at this time. If you do, this information will be overwritten and lost. We only require estimate information at present and we will request your actuals data in due course.

If you have any questions, please email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk or phone the Family Information Service on 01243 777807.

2. Are parents you work with having difficulty reconfirming for Extended Free Entitlement with HMRC?

The Department for Education are advising if parents have any technical difficulties in reconfirming codes, they should phone the HMRC helpline and insist that an ‘Incident Referral’ is raised. The HMRC helpline number is 0300 1234 097

If you have any questions, please email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk or contact the Family Information Service on 01243 777807 and ask to speak to the specialist team.

3. Call for Free Entitlement (FE) Parent Testimonials

Do you have a parent with a story to tell?

Following the success of a trial earlier in the term, we are now widening out the collection of parent testimonials to all settings.

So far we have had some heart-warming, motivating and enlightening stories from parents across the county about how 2 year old, universal and extended FE has changed their lives.

We are keen to hear from you and as many parents as possible to hear their stories and their views of FE. We would like to use these stories in real life advertising within West Sussex so other parents can hear about FE from your parents.

This very simple form is to help parents put in their own words what you, the FE provider and FE in general means to them. All information will be anonomised before we use it in any advertising.

If you have any questions, please email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk or contact the Family Information Service on 01243 777807 and ask to speak to the specialist team.

4. When is a toy not a toy?
