3. Time to Update!

You said…

..the Online Provider Portal (OPP) ECS Provider Profile Update was too long and time consuming.

We did…

We have created a new ‘Termly Childcare Provider Update’ form. We have made it simpler to follow and reviewed all the questions included to ensure we are only asking what is absolutely essential.

You must update this at least termly, and we will send out reminders through the broadcast email to help you remember. Updating is a DfE requirement for all and a condition of Free Entitlement funding, as per the Provider Declaration 2017-2018: 6.1 WSCC is required to keep an up-to-date Directory of all providers within their area that are eligible to claim funding for the provision of FE places. Providers must update their setting information termly.’

Updating your vacancies also ensures that when we are assessing childcare sufficiency in your area we do not encourage new settings to open if they are not needed. Parents do not see the vacancy information you add on this form.

However, you can add information on your vacancies and the individual aspects of your setting in the free type box on page 5 of the form ‘Additional Information’. This is shared with parents.

The new form is now available via the forms tab on the OPP.

If you need any help or have any questions regarding anything in this article please contact the Family Information Service on 01243 777807 or email family.info.service@westsussex.gov.uk

4. Online Provider Portal Workshops

  • Are you new to using the Online Provider Portal (OPP)?
  • Have you been using the OPP for a while but have queries on how the OPP works and how best to submit the various data returns required throughout the year?

If so, this is the web-based workshop for you!

The workshop is open to both FE providers and non-FE Providers and we tailor the session to suit those attending.  There is often time at the end of the session to also sort out individual queries if you have them.

As this is a web-based session, you will need access to a laptop or PC and phone. Unfortunately tablets or smartphones are not currently compatible with our systems.

Two time slots are available, please call 01243 777807, quoting course code BR017N to book on your preferred session

  • 07/12/17 9.30am – 11.30am
  • 07/12/17 1.30pm – 3.30pm

If the date is not suitable, we will be looking to hold some more sessions in January with a focus around Census and submitting Free Entitlement claims. Dates to be confirmed.

In the meantime, make www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal your first port of call as this page contains all the guidance you need which also includes an ever growing number of YouTube videos.
