Business Continuity Planning Event – September 2024
GCC’s Adults Commissioning Team and Mark Whitten, GCC’s Business Continuity Lead, are planning some provider events to share good practice in emergency planning.
We hope that this will be helpful in building on your organisational resilience to provide an effective response that safeguards the interests of all key stakeholders and your priority service activities in the event of disruptions such as a pandemic, cyber-attack, power outage or flood.
It will also be useful to us as Commissioners in understanding any issues that you have, and in thinking about how we can all work together to ensure Business Continuity is a joint venture.
The sessions will be tailored to suit different categories/sizes of organisations and will hopefully be in person.
You will be able to attend the session that best suits your organisation.
Our planned content includes:
- GCC’s statutory requirements as Category 1 responders
- Overview of providers’ BCP requirements under contract
- Auditing BCPs
- Case studies to illustrate effective planning
- Exploration of provider issues
- Q&A
We hope to set this up for mid-September (date to be confirmed).
We hope that this will be collaborative and informative for all and would like to invite you to be involved in the planning.
- Would you be interested in attending?
- Are there any areas you would like to see covered?
- Would you like to share your previous experience of dealing with disruptive events?
Please respond to commissioninghubadul@gloucestershire.gov.uk if you want to be involved or if you have any questions.
Best wishes,
The Integrated Commissioning Team
Provider Forums – Have your say!
We are continuing to hold Provider Forums throughout the year with the County Council Commissioners providing the opportunity to share commissioning updates and information with you. This is also an opportunity to have your say.
We are pleased to report that the recent Domiciliary Care Provider Forum, which took place on 3 May at the Farmers Club was a success with good attendance.
Providers heard commissioning updates on the framework contract, the Market Position Statement, the Falls Training Programme; a GCPA update including international recruitment support; the market sustainability and improvement fund, workforce strategy and the Proud to Care training directory. There were opportunities to network and commissioners were keen to hear provider views on the subjects covered. Feedback was noted and will be used in future developments and we heard that more opportunities for interaction are welcomed and we will try to facilitate this going forward.
Our next Care Home Provider Forum is scheduled as follows:
30 May 2024, 10:00 – 12:30 – The Parish Room, Highnam Community Centre Trust, Newent Road, Highnam, Gloucester, GL2 8DG. Please click this link to download the agenda.
Please can we also ask you to register your interest, so we have an idea of numbers/attendees on the day at: ptc@gloucestershire.gov.uk

Support for Team Leads/Managers
-
Consultation: We offer a 30-60-minute telephone or MS Teams consultation to managers and team leaders who are concerned about a colleague. The consultation is with a clinical psychologist, who will help you explore ways of supporting your team members and ways to normalise conversations about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
-
Peer Connecting Sessions: We also run regular 50-minute facilitated peer support sessions for those individuals with Line Management responsibility, who support others in health and social care across the Integrated Care System (ICS).
-
