Funded Early Education - for childcare settings and childminders

The E-Hub is currently open for all 2023 Summer term actuals to be submitted. The last date for all submissions is Friday 19^th May 2023.

If you have not yet submitted your claim you will need to do so before the above date.

Any providers with no funded children must email fee.earlyyears@eastriding.gov.uk to notify them of your NIL return.

Childcare sufficiency 2023 Assessment

The Families Information Service Hub (FISH) would like help from parents/carers to inform the East Riding of Yorkshire Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) Survey 2023.

We are reviewing our Childcare Sufficiency Assessment, for 2023 and we need as many parents/carers to complete the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Parental Childcare Survey as possible, including those who currently access childcare and those who may wish to access childcare in the future.

We will be sending out a provider survey but unfortunately due to the recent elections the questions we want to ask could not be asked during that time

Additional Inclusion Support (AIS) Funding (PVI settings)

Applications for Additional Inclusion Support funding are considered on a termly basis with funding to commence at the beginning of the following term. Requests are considered initially by the Area SENCo team prior to seeking approval from the Early Years Support Team. To ensure that the process to runs efficiently, requests must be received by the dates published below.

Autumn Term 2023 Funding- Closing date Wednesday 7th June 2023

Changes on how to claim AIS Funding

We just wanted to make you aware about changes on how to claim for your AIS Funding.

We have created a new online form that should make the process of claiming for your child in your setting quicker and easier.

In future if your setting has a child who is entitled to AIS funding please use the link below to send in your claims for each month before the 15^th  for  example August’s claim needs to be in by the 15^th  September making sure you are only claiming for one month at a time.

Provider Search - School Drop Off/Pick Up

We have recently updated our online provider search, to allow parents to now filter by providers offering a school pick drop off/pick up service.

If you offer a drop off/pick up as part of your service and would like to advertise this, you can do so by updating your provider record via the “useful information for parents” form on the Ehub.

Making it REAL- Reminder of the Upcoming Webinar

The East Riding Early Years Team are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with the National Children's Bureau.

The National Children's Bureau (NCB) are delivering their Making It REAL programme in East Riding. The programme involves free training for practitioners to work with parents in the home to create a rich home learning environment that supports their child early literacy development. The practitioners deliver home visits and provide activities for parents to do with their child between the visits. Please see attached for more information.  

The programme is being delivered as part of a randomised control trial evaluation which is seeking to assess the impact of the programme on children's early language skills and the effects on practitioners, parents and children.  

The NCB are running a webinar for interested group settings only to hear more. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 17 May, 4.30-5.30pm.

COVID-19 update for educational settings, May 2023

The World Health Organisation announced that the global coronavirus pandemic is no longer a global emergency. Please be assured that guidelines for keeping everyone safe in settings remain in place (including isolation periods) and vaccinations are still the best form of protection.

People are being urged to get COVID-19 Vaccinations before the offer ends on 30 June 2023. Please encourage children and staff, who haven’t already accessed a COVID-19 vaccination, to get one before the deadline for first and second dose vaccines. Some children aged 5 – 17 in the East Riding have not had the COVID-19 vaccines, with Goole, Bridlington and South East Holderness being particularly high for unvaccinated children. In the East Riding, on average, 32% of primary school age and 20% of secondary school age children have not had any of the offered doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccinations can be booked here.

Parenting Survey

The East Riding Parenting Centre for Excellence is currently reviewing the local parenting offer across the whole of the East Riding.

Our families are at the heart of everything we do, so we want to know what we are getting right for you and if there are any areas you feel we could be better at meeting your needs from a parenting point of view. 

We welcome surveys from all parents/carers/grandparents and others within your child’s family.

It will only take a few minutes to complete and your thoughts would be much appreciated.
