Upcoming Deadlines as we Closeout 2024 and Welcome 2025!

December 13, 2024 - Deadline for selected LEAs to submit documentation regarding TEA's 2024-2025 ESSA Program Monitoring Validations via Smartsheets. To access the list of LEA's selected and resources, reference TEA's original GovDelivery sent here. Please note: ESC-20 has reached out to those LEAs selected in our region regarding this requirement. 

December 29, 2024 - Revised Final and Final Expenditure Reports due for ESSER III, 2023-2024 ESSA Consolidated Grant Application and other federal formula grants. This date is a slight difference from the original deadline. Reference TEA's Universal Errata  here.

January 15, 2025 - Deadline for LEAs to complete the Phase I Programmatic Reports (CROSSACT and SCHOOLS) for the Year Five USDE ESSER Annual Reporting in Smartsheets. For more information, and to register for office hours offerings, reference TEA's GovDelivery sent here.

January 16, 2025 - PEIMS Fall First Submission Due, revised from the original due date of December 12, 2024. Reference the To The Administrator Address sent here.

January 17, 2025 - Due date for districts requesting indirect cost rates for the school year 2025-2026 to submit an Indirect Cost Rate Proposal (ICRP) and Additional Costs Workbook (ACW). For more information, reference TEA's original GovDelivery sent here.

January 30, 2025 - the PEIMS Fall Resubmission will close. See below for an explanation of the revised date.

PEIMS Fall Submission Due Dates Revised

TEA sent correspondence informing LEAs about the update to the PEIMS Fall Submission due dates. The PEIMS Fall First Submission due date is January 16, 2025. The PEIMS Fall Resubmission will close on January 30, 2025. This means that school systems can continue to try to obtain income eligibility verification forms for students past the PEIMS Fall snapshot date; however, the student must be determined to be eligible on or before October 25, 2024. Competitive Grant Opportunities:

GEAR UP (GU) Grants to Districts

TEA announced the availability of the 2025-2026 Texas GEAR UP (GU) Grants to Districts grant program. The Request for Application (RFA) is available on TEA's Grant Opportunities Webpage. It is anticipated that approximately 12 grants will be awarded with each grant award expected to be up to $300,000. Grant applications are due January 17, 2025. 2025-2027 Texas Strategic Staffing Grant for Sustainable, Paid Teacher Residency Program

The Texas Strategic Staffing for Sustainable, Paid Teacher Residency Programs Grant is a two-year grant to districts and charter, designed to provide direct technical assistance and other supports to districts/charter and educator preparation (EPP) partnerships to design and implement paid, year-long high-quality, sustainable teacher residencies across multiple school years. Parent and Family Engagement Best Practices Virtual Expo - Lovescaping for Families: Building a Culture of Love in Action at Home

The Parent & Family Engagement Statewide Initiative is thrilled to invite you to a free virtual Best Practices Expo on transforming homes into places of connection! USDE Year Five ESSER Reporting Worktimes Offered at ESC-20

Looking ahead at the upcoming deadlines for LEA's to submit their Year Five USDE ESSER Annual Reporting in Smartsheets. Phase I: Programmatic Reports (CROSSACT and SCHOOLS) are due January 15, 2025. Phase II: Fiscal Reports (ESSER I, ESSER II, ESSER III) are due on March 15, 2025. Your ESC-20 Federal Programs Team will be offering multiple opportunities for you to block out time on your schedule to attend trainings and worktimes regarding these reports.

Updating your EDGAR Manual - Presented by Becky Estrada (TASBO)

Becky Estrada has designed this session for LEAs interested in updating their EDGAR Manuals to be in alignment with recent changes. This session is free to Federal Program Commitment Members. All others can pay the registration fee to attend.

ACET Winter Virtual Academy

ACET will be offering a Foundational (0-3 years' experience) and Advanced (3+ years) Virtual Academy occurring in the next few weeks.

• Foundational - January 22, 2025
• Advanced - February 5, 2025

TEA will be presenting, as well as experts from the field, on both programmatic and fiscal compliance topics. Registration for each academy is $100, or individuals can attend both academies for $175.
