Year Five USDE ESSER Reporting Phase II Launch

The online system for LEAs to complete this reporting requirement will open on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. CST. TEA has released the Year Five Annual Performance Report in two phases:

• Phase I: Programmatic Reports (CROSSACT and SCHOOLS)
• Phase I launched on September 3, 2024, and closes on January 15, 2025.
• Phase II: Fiscal Reports (ESSER I, ESSER II, ESSER III)
• Phase II will launch on November 1, 2024, and close on March 15, 2025.

How do I Access the USDE ESSER Reporting WorkApp?  

To access the USDE ESSER Reporting WorkApp, LEAs, ESCs, and other grantees must be listed as your organization’s contact and have completed the New User Certification Form. Individuals with current access to the EDGAR Connect SmartSheet WorkApp will automatically have access to the USDE ESSER Reporting WorkApp.  

Data Collection Timeline for Year Five Reporting

The timeline for Year Five ESSER Annual Performance Reporting is as follows (and is subject to change):  

• 9/3/2024: TEA launches Year Five Phase I ESSER Annual Performance Reporting Tool in SmartSheet via USDE ESSER Reporting WorkApp. 
• 11/1/2024: TEA launches Year Five Phase II ESSER Annual Performance Reporting Tool in SmartSheet via USDE ESSER Reporting WorkApp. 
• 1/15/2025: Phase I data collection tool closes for LEA (Local Education Agency) submission.
• 3/15/2025: Phase II data collection tool closes for LEA (Local Education Agency) submission.

Ensure that you complete all of the required reports, failure to complete the reports by the specified deadline could lead to:

• Referral to the Federal Compliance Officer for non-compliance with grant requirement (could lead to an increased risk designation), and/or;
• Suspension of federal funds.

Year Five USDE ESSER Reporting Office Hours

TEA staff will be hosting the following office hours sessions to provide technical assistance for Year Five USDE ESSER Annual Performance Reporting (these are open to LEAs and ESCs):

• Tuesdays, from 10:00 AM CST to 11:00 AM CST (November 5, 2024, to December 17, 2024)
