Oregon–South Korea Aviation Delegation Visit: July 26–30, 2026
Oregon will host an aviation delegation from South Korea July 26–30, 2026, bringing leaders from government, industry, and research institutions to explore opportunities in uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), advanced air mobility, aerospace manufacturing, and aviation services.
The visit will spotlight Oregon’s statewide airport system, strong innovation ecosystem, and the diverse mix of rural, coastal, and urban testing environments that position the state as an ideal U.S. entry point for Korean aviation companies.
Throughout the week, delegates will participate in technical briefings, industry sessions, B2B meetings, airport and test range tours, manufacturing demonstrations, and regional site visits across Portland, Scappoose, Pendleton, Hermiston, Hood River, and Tillamook.
Organizations, industry partners, and community leaders are invited to join select events to connect with the delegation and explore opportunities for collaboration, investment, and long‑term partnership.

Prospect State Airport - Tie-downs and Markings Complete!
The finishing touches are in at Prospect State Airport! New tie-downs and pavement markings were recently completed, officially wrapping up the airport's apron reconstruction project. Combined with the runway reconstruction completed last year, Prospect now has a refreshed airfield ready to serve pilots, visitors, and aerial firefighting crews for years to come. Together, these enhancements modernize infrastructure that was more than 60 years old and help ensure the airport continues to support local aviation, recreation, and aerial firefighting operations for years to come.

Reminder to use Noise Abatement Procedures at UAO
As the weather improves, Oregonians will be ditching their umbrellas and raincoats for all the wonderful outdoor activities and scenery the state has to offer. For many of us, this means your first boat, ATV, motorcycle ride, road trip, or flight of the season is near. Maybe all of the above!
The Oregon Department of Aviation encourages all pilots to fly safe and neighborly. At the Aurora State Airport (UAO), we have developed noise abatement procedures to help avoid noise sensitive communities around the airport. Please fly neighborly and follow these procedures to reduce your noise impact.

Lake County Airport 2024
Priority 1 – FAA match
Lake County Airport received it’s first COAR grant in 2024 for taxiway rehabilitation. As a rural airport that serves as a link for air ambulance and firefighting, it is essential to maintain pavement surfaces for safety and operational reliability. The project consisted of crack repair, slurry seal, and refreshed pavement markings. The project was primarily funded by FAA grant funds, with COAR funds helping to cover the required sponsor match for Lake County. The project is complete and will extend the serviceability of the pavement for several more years.
Information on the COAR program may be found on our website or by reaching out to COAR Program Coordinators at Grants@ODAV.oregon.gov.

Prospect State Airport Tiedowns and Markings

Cascade Locks State Airport June Mowing
|
|
|
Our Airport Operations team has been busy with seasonal maintenance. Crews are currently working through their second round of mowing at airports in the Willamette Valley and have also been mowing airports along the coast and throughout the Cascade Mountains.
In addition to mowing operations, staff recently completed the apron markings and tiedown installation at Prospect State Airport entirely in-house. This was a significant undertaking, and the team did an outstanding job delivering the project.
Please note that a recent incident has taken one of our mowers out of service. Staff will continue to keep up on mowing with limited equipment, but it may take longer than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding as staff continue this important work with limited equipment.
