It's that time of the year! To help guide our Oklahoma teachers and soon to be teachers in the process of Applying and Renewing your Oklahoma Teachers Certification, please see the Teaching Certification Application Guide.

With the passage of HB 3638 into law, the OGET is no longer required or offered in the state of Oklahoma to obtain ANY initial educator certification. This includes teachers, counselors, psychologists, psychometrists, principals and superintendent certification.
All references to the OGET on OSDE webpages and documents are in the process of being removed.
Please refer teacher candidates to the Teacher Certification Paths webpage for current certification requirements.
If a teacher candidate inquires about a refund for the OGET, a request must be submitted.
OSDE Connect is a learning management system (LMS) that OSDE utilizes to provide free online training to educators and other school staff across the state. We are currently in the process of transitioning OSDE Connect to a new environment. Our goal is to have the new OSDE Connect up and running later this summer.
At this time, we're encouraging users to complete any in-progress training modules and download their completion certificates before we remove access to the current OSDE Connect on June 15.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services (OSDE-SES) annually surveys exiters (students who exit the IDEA) aged 16 and up a year after they graduate, dropout, or age out and reports the following data to the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). The results are reflected in the annual District Determination Profile (DDP) and districts are measured against targets.

The FY23 LEA Agreement is now available online. You can access the LEA Agreement through the GMS. Your FY23 Assurances must be complete before beginning the LEA Agreement. Both must be submitted by June 30, 2020.

The FY2023 Assurances are now available online. Assurances must be completed prior to July 1st. You can access the Assurances through your Single Sign On, then click on the Grants Management/Expenditure Reporting. Once on the GMS Access Select page, you will need to change the Select Fiscal Year to 2023 then proceed to create your Assurances. If assistance is needed please contact your finance specialist.
Starting on April 4, 2022, the Integrated Award Environment (IAE) systems (i.e., SAM.gov, FPDS, eSRS, FSRS, FAPIIS, and CPARS) will comply with the Federal Government’s requirement to end use of the DUNS Number for Federal award management. The U.S. Department of Education’s Grants Management System (G5) will also implement this transition on April 4, 2022. Oklahoma State Department Special Education Services will be holding the 2022 Directors Summit following OKEngage around Oklahoma in July.

Registration for the Oklahoma Deaf Education Conference is now open and we have a great conference planned! We can't wait to host everyone at OSD!
Attached you will find a flyer with information about the conference, presenters, and our very special guest! To register, please click on the link or use the QR code which will take you to the registration website. On the website you will find registration, a full schedule, list of presenters, and lodging information.
The pre-conference will have 2 tracks. There will be a track for educational interpreters who have not yet achieved a QAST level IV or EIPA level 4 (like OEITI) and a track for early intervention/early childhood. The main conference will have three tracks which will be for all educational interpreters, early intervention and early childhood, and teachers of the deaf.
Thanks to the Oklahoma State Department of Education, this conference is being offered at no cost to in-state attendees. Reimbursement for lodging is available through OSDE-SES Project 613. Districts will need to complete an online application through the Grants Management System (GMS). For reimbursement, districts will need to submit an online Expenditure Report through the GMS.

The annual Oklahoma MTSS Summer Conference will feature oral presentations, stakeholder buy-in, prevention and intervention methods, mental health and integration alignment, classroom strategies, and other aspects of implementing a multi-tiered system of support for school communities.

Starting in August 2022, the National Resource Center for Paraeducators (NRCP) and the Center for Technical Assistance for Excellence in Special Education (TAESE) have organized a year of monthly, low-cost, professional development webinars for paraeducators, teachers, administrators, etc.
Saturday Mornings with the NRCP!
Registration is open and ongoing for 12 webinars! One year of professional development!
Join us on the Second Saturday of each month for exciting topics and presenters! The first six months will cover topics such as:

- Teachers and Paraeducators Team Teaching in the Classroom/On a Tight Schedule: Enhancing Communication Between Paraeducators and General Education Teachers.

Each webinar will be $25 per person. Session bundles are available. Six webinars can be purchased for $125, or all 12 can be purchased for $250. Each webinar will also be recorded and made available to all registrants for a strictly limited time.
The SSIP Tier 2 support offers a comprehensive Professional Development Sequence to Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) and non-ATSI K-3 school sites. The PD sequence for the three-year designation seeks to improve early literacy outcomes for K-3 students.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education – Special Education Services Department – is hosting two one day paraprofessional conferences this August. The first conference will be held at the Moore High School Auditorium on Monday, August 1, 2022. The second conference will be held at the Glenpool Convention Center on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Both conferences will feature keynote speaker Quinton T. Jones who will present on ways to inspire and motivate others to reach their best potential by recreating the story of Cinderella and bringing it to the reality of their everyday lives as paraprofessionals. The conference will also include breakout sessions focused on topics such as Behavior, Teaching Strategies, Communication with Staff, and Social Emotional Learning. Paraprofessionals who attend the conference will leave motivated and ready to use the knowledge gained from the conference to continue to invest in the lives of students.
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.
*Note: To receive a 6 hour Professional Development Certificate for the 2022-2023 School Year, you must attend the entire conference.

If your district employs educational interpreters, please verify that they are on the OSDE Educational Interpreter Registry. All interpreters in an educational setting are required to be on the registry and are required to obtain yearly CEUs.
