NC Museum of History: It's Revolutionary!: America 250
The Declaration of Independence is a landmark document that marked a pivotal moment in history for European colonists, Indigenous peoples, free people of color, and enslaved individuals.
The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence will be celebrated on July 4, 2026, with both festivities and reflection. The journey toward liberty continues beyond the end of the Revolutionary War in 1783. The NC Museum of History: Beyond Exhibit's initiative, "It's Revolutionary!" highlights diverse perspectives from that era and provides resources like Tar Heel Junior Historian magazines, an Educator Notebook, and online workshops. This initiative encourages the exploration of history, showing how the past shapes our present and future.
