Alcohol Awareness Month
April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol misuse and provide resources for prevention and treatment. Facts About Teen Drinking is a website designed for teens that contains in-depth information about how alcohol affects health, how to identify signs of an alcohol problem, and how to get help. You can also utilize the Alcohol Harms Prevention Toolkit to help raise awareness throughout the month.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month
During April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Prevention services and supports developed by this collaboration can help parents, caregivers, and communities protect children and strengthen families.

SUN Bucks Navigator Training
Through CalFresh, school-aged children can gain easier and quicker access to SUN Bucks benefits, ensuring they have the nutrition they need during the summer months. This free interactive training is designed for anyone interested in learning how to help eligible families access SUN Bucks, CalFresh, and School Meals. Register for the April 23 training at 10:30 AM or for the May 8 training at 1:00 PM.

2025 Chargers Champions Grant Program
The Chargers Champions School Grant Program was created to assist schools with meeting some of the basic physical fitness, nutrition, and athletic needs of their students. The grant program is open to all public and private schools grades K-12 in San Diego and Imperial counties. Learn more and apply by May 5, 2025.

Youth Leadership Summit
On June 7 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM the Youth Leadership Summit 2025 will bring together young leaders and their adult partners for a day of learning and connection, providing them with the tools, connections, and inspiration needed to make a positive impact. School teams of one school site staff member and two students in grades 9-11 will be accepted on a first come, first-served basis, so you are encouraged to register early!
