Help Spread the Word: County Budget 2025-27 Informational Open House on April 17
Discover how the County budget serves you – attend an Informational Open House April 17
Discover how the County’s budget serves you and your community. Attend an informational open house at 5 P.M. on April 17th, 2025 at the County Operations Center Chambers. You can find out what the County does, how the budget is built and learn about the many services that help you and neighbors. You can also ask questions and find out how to get involved in the budget process.
Staff members are working on the budget now to present a balanced recommended budget to the Board of Supervisors on May 1st, 2025. The 2025-26 budget will go into effect on July 1st, 2025. The open house will run until 7 P.M. Be sure and bring the kids too. They can meet some adoptable animals, visit a live hawk, and see County emergency vehicles up close, check out a Probation K9 demonstration and more.

2025 NAMIWalks Community Wellness Expo Kicks Off May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Matters Month (MIMHMM) is just around the corner, and BHS and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) San Diego have partnered to host the Community Wellness Expo at the NAMIWalks 5K event on April 26th, 2025 at NTC Park in Liberty Station. The Wellness Expo will be kicking off MIMHMM and will offer mental health-related resources, interactive activities, and opportunities to connect with local organizations, advocates, and community members dedicated to mental wellness. The Expo will feature nearly 100 exhibitors with a combination of community organizations, providers, and County departments to provide mental health-related resources along with fun and interactive activities and promotional materials for all to enjoy. Mental Health Matters Month provides an opportunity for everyone to come together to illuminate mental health awareness and end the stigma, which is crucial in encouraging people to seek the assistance they need.

Black Infant Health Program
The San Diego County Black Infant Health Program (BIH) is a FREE supportive service for pregnant women and new mothers who are at least 16 years of age and self-identify as Black or African American. BIH aims to improve health among eligible mothers and babies by empowering pregnant and mothering, Black/African American moms and make healthier choices for a brighter future. We accept participants at any stage of pregnancy and up to 6 months post-partum, regardless of income.
