Speed Machine Being Installed on Arnoldtown Road![]() Louisville Metro Public Works has placed the order for (4) driver feedback signs to be installed along Arnoldtown Rd. Above you will find their proposed installation plan. One thing to note is they are proposing to remove a reverse curve warning sign. They reviewed this road using a ball bank indicator to determine advisory speeds of curves/turns and this section of road doesn’t warrant a sign under their standards. Additionally, they reviewed crash history and there have not been any crashes along this section of road since 1/1/2020 (over three years). In situations like this, they typically remove the unwarranted curve warning signs. Please share any of your questions and comments with our office either by emailing us or calling our office at 502-574-1125. "Trash for Cash" ProgramTrash for Cash raises money for youth-serving nonprofits; new calendar informs residents of mowing and litter collection With more than just spring cleaning ahead, Louisville Metro Government is showcasing all the ways they are working year-round to help keep the city beautiful. On Tuesday, Mayor Craig Greenberg highlighted a new program, Trash for Cash, that helps clean up Louisville while giving local nonprofits a new way to raise money. Additionally, Metro Public Works, in partnership with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), released a calendar showing where and when residents can expect beautification efforts year-round. Trash for Cash, a state program being rolled out in Louisville for the first time, helps ensure roadways around Louisville are kept clean while raising money for local youth-serving nonprofits. Qualified nonprofits can apply to join Trash for Cash on Brightside’s website. Brightside will then work with the nonprofit to find a roadway that needs attention, and the nonprofit will earn $100 per mile they help clean. “Trash for Cash is a win-win for Louisville; the city gets cleaner streets, and local youth-serving nonprofits get more funds to help our kids,” Mayor Greenberg said. “I’m very proud this program has come to Louisville, and I want to thank the hard work of our Metro staff in making it a reality. I hope some of our outstanding nonprofits take advantage of this program to raise funds and help keep Louisville beautiful.” While Trash for Cash highlights how community groups can help keep Louisville clean, Mayor Greenberg also stressed that hardworking Metro Government employees and their partners at KYTC work year-round toward that goal. Mayor Greenberg released the city’s mowing and cleanup schedule to let residents know where and when they can expect mowing and litter pickup to occur around the city. “Kentucky Derby time is a great time for our city to show off on the world stage, but keeping our city clean and beautiful is a year-round priority,” said Mayor Greenberg, standing with representatives of Brightside, Metro Public Works and YouthBuild Louisville. “The hardworking people of Public Works are out there in every kind of weather, mowing and collecting litter, and now, with the release of 2023 Litter Collection and Mowing Calendar, every resident can know just where and when they are working.” If residents are concerned about maintenance of an area, they are encouraged to call 311 or submit a service request online.
