Please join me on Wed., Aug. 9 at 7 p.m., in the former Evanston Police Department Outpost, 633 Howard St. The meeting agenda is as follows:

  • Intro of Presence St. Francis Hospital's new President, Kenneth Jones
  • 700 Block of Brummel St.-  Alley paving 
  • Brummel Park Tot Playground renovation and installation
  • 100 Block of Callan Ave. - Street widening update 
  • Update on Good To Go, 711 Howard St., construction and opening!
  • Update on Howard Street Theater Project construction, 721-723 Howard St.
  • Update on Patisserie Coralie – Bakery and Café, 633 Howard St. 
  • Update on Smylie Brothers Brewing Co., 2222 Oakton St. 
  • Intro of Officer Reggie Napier, 8th Ward new community police officer. 

Howard St. Improvement Open House August 28

An open house public meeting will be held on Mon. Aug., 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Margaret Mary Activity Center, 7341 N. Claremont Ave., Chicago, to review and discuss proposed improvements to Howard Street, from Hartrey/Sacramento Avenue to Callan/Winchester Avenue. 

The meeting will include a brief presentation on the need for the project, the design alternatives under consideration, and the project schedule. Aerial maps of existing conditions and exhibits of proposed improvements will be displayed.

The meeting is hosted by Evanston 8th Ward Alderman Ann Rainey, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Chicago Aldermen Joe Moore (49th) and Debra Silverstein (50th).

Notices will be sent at the end of August.

  • A rodent control presentation will be on Wed., Sept.13, 6:30 p.m. at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave.
  • Burger King's court date is set for Mon., Sept.18 for 9:30 a.m. at the Richard J. Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St. Chicago, IL
