Hello,
As we welcome the longer, warmer days in our community, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year and the strong partnership we share with those we are honored to serve.
At the American Canyon Police Department, we believe transparency and accountability are essential to maintaining public trust. Our annual police report is an important opportunity to share not only our accomplishments but also the ongoing efforts, challenges and priorities that shape our work each day. It provides insight into how your police department is working to enhance public safety, strengthen community relationships and respond to the evolving needs of American Canyon.
I am incredibly proud of the men and women of our department, whose dedication, professionalism and commitment to service are evident in everything they do. Their work reflects a deep respect for this community and a shared responsibility to ensure American Canyon remains a safe and welcoming place for all.
I invite you to review this year’s Annual Police Report, now available online, to learn more about the progress we have made together. I also encourage you to view the presentation recently shared with the City Council, which further highlights our efforts and future goals. Electric Bicycles
With the growing popularity of e-bikes, especially among youth, we encourage families to keep the following in mind before making a purchase and sustaining best practices while riding one.There are three classes of electric bicycles, please refer to the classifications to ensure you’re abiding to the speed limits and helmet requirements.

Pedestrians
Spring is here which means there’s an increase of foot traffic and bicycles on the roadways. Please share the roads and look out for one another. Slow down, yield to pedestrians, give cyclists at least 3 feet of space, and stay alert behind the wheel. Safe streets start with all of us. |

Rising Day Time Residential Burglaries
There has been a notable increase in daytime residential burglaries. Please secure your residence and follow these tips:
- If you have home security cameras, make sure they are working properly and positioned near entry points. Visible cameras and alarms can help deter activity.
- Double-check that all doors and windows are locked and secure, even when you’re home.
- Keep blinds and curtains closed to limit visibility inside your home.
- If you’re traveling, consider posting photos until you return.
