Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests, Guns, and Narcotics Seized
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Oct. 2, 2025 — On Wednesday, Oct. 1, just before 5 p.m., an American Canyon police officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 29 near Highway 12 after observing a white Toyota 4Runner speeding and tailgating another vehicle.
During the stop, the officer’s K-9 partner alerted him to the presence of suspected narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed three loaded firearms, two that were unregistered, suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, and other evidence consistent with drug sales.
The driver, 37-year-old Daniel Castillo of North Highlands, was arrested on seven felony charges, including possession of controlled substances for sale, carrying loaded firearms illegally, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The passenger, 44-year-old Crystal Bingham of Napa, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects were booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
