Hello,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Safe Trick or Treat event at the public safety building on Halloween. It was great to see so many families and children dressed up and trick or treating in a safe, fun environment. Community events like this are always a highlight for all first responders in AmCan, and we appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

Anti-Theft Reminders
We’ve recently seen an increase in mail theft in our community. This is a good reminder to routinely check your mailboxes for letters and packages to prevent theft. With the holiday season approaching, we also typically see a rise in online ordering identity theft. Protect yourself by keeping your card information secure and enabling 2-factor authentication on all online accounts.
Fall Driving Tips
Now that we’ve “fallen back” and the days are shorter, we’ve had some close calls in the community. Take extra precaution while driving in the dark: stay aware of other drivers and watch for pedestrians in crosswalks. With the rainy season upon us, remember these additional tips for driving safely in the wet conditions:
- Slow down.
- Increase your following distance.
- Check your tires, headlights and windshield wipers for proper function.
Happy Thanksgiving from ACPD!
We hope everyone has a safe holiday filled with community, loved ones and plenty of turkey. Stay vigilant, stay safe and as always, if you see something, say something. Call us anytime at (707) 253-4451.
