Hello,
Last week’s State of the City events were a great success! I want to thank all who attended, participated and engaged in meaningful conversations at both of these events. If you were unable to attend our State of the City presentations last week, don’t worry. Our digital presentation is available on American Canyon’s YouTube channel.
Earlier this week, city staff attended an additional State of the City session that focused on the internal progress we’ve made over the last year. Check out the photos from our event below!
Want to hear about the state of American Canyon’s business community? Register for American Canyon Chamber of Commerce’s Local Legends Luncheon at the Boys and Girls Clubhouse next Thursday, March 6.
As a reminder, the nomination window is still open for the prestigious “Gateway Award.” Nominations are now being accepted through Monday, March 3, so be sure to submit your nomination form now for someone who has positively affected American Canyon. The award recipient will be honored at the Community Recognition Ball on Saturday, April 26. Tickets will be available for purchase from Feb. 2 to April 13.
Thank you for making American Canyon a great place to live, work and play.
Take care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

Thank you for joining me and my fellow City Council members at the State of the City Open House events last week. We had meaningful conversations with many residents at both events and had the opportunity to learn about what matters most in the community.
Earlier this month, I participated in an interview with the Napa Valley Register for their article, “What does it take to sit on the dais in wine country? Napa County mayors tell all.”
I’m always happy to answer questions about my role as American Canyon’s mayor. In my opinion, the role of mayor is truly what you make of it, and my commitment to the position is 24/7. I relate it to my time in law enforcement – as a cop and detective, I was always on duty, ready to respond to any "call,” whether it was a moment of celebration or a matter of life or death. That same level of readiness and dedication guides me as your mayor.
I aim as your mayor to embody trustworthiness, honesty, ethics and compassion. I pledge to welcome new ideas with an open mind. Most importantly, I’m focused on listening to you – the residents of our community – and always remaining accessible to you.
For me, being mayor means being fully dedicated – not just to the role, but to the residents and visitors of American Canyon. This is my commitment.
Together in service, Mayor Pierre Washington

American Canyon Library Landscaping Update
The new landscaping for the American Canyon Library is almost complete. Although one more visit is required to install more plants and finalize few more areas, the new mulch, rocks and most of the succulents are all in place. This new landscape upgrade requires much less maintenance and will keep the library looking beautiful.
