Greetings, American Canyon!
As we are nearing the end of October, the excitement of fall and Halloween is in the air. We want to share a few important updates and tips to help keep our community safe and informed. Here are some important safety tips for trick-or-treaters and their families:
- Ensure children wear reflective gear or carry glow sticks/flashlights while trick-or-treating.
- Encourage children to stick to well-lit streets and always use crosswalks when crossing roads.
- Make sure costumes fit properly to avoid trips and falls and check that masks don't obstruct vision.
- Parents should inspect candy before allowing children to eat it, ensuring everything is sealed correctly.
Report Crimes Directly to Us, Not on Social Media! We've noticed an increase in crime-related posts on social media, but we encourage all residents to report crimes directly to the police. While sharing your experiences online can raise awareness, it doesn't provide us with the details needed for an official investigation. If you witness a crime or are the victim of one, call us immediately at (707) 253-4451 or in an emergency, dial 911.
October can sometimes bring an unfortunate rise in vandalism, especially around Halloween. We ask residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activities and report any incidents immediately by calling (707) 253-4451. Whether it's graffiti, property damage, or other forms of vandalism, your vigilance helps keep our neighborhoods safe.
Thank you for your continued support in maintaining American Canyon's safety and security.
Respectfully,
Chief Rick Greenberg American Canyon Police Department
