October 29, 2021
Hello,
We survived last Sunday's deluge! While we experienced nuisance flooding in certain low-lying areas, we largely avoided more significant problems. Special thanks to our first responders and the following City staff who worked day and night in the rain to keep our City safe and functioning: Ron Ranada, Edison Bisnar, Bob Dunn, Steve Jarvi, Tony Oreja, Eric Rosenberger, Mark Wrinkle, Brian Materne, Rick Hall, Dominic Patrick, Kristopher Alexander, Thomas Valenti, Stuart Cole, Jay Atkinson, Josh McCauley, Nolan Garcia, David Accurso, Ray Witzlsteiner, Chris Morris, and Jordan Slabaugh.
Team AC had a little fun this week decorating pumpkins! Would you mind voting for your favorite and sharing our Facebook post? This is just one example of how our Parks & Recreation team inspires fun. We are recruiting for the Parks & Recreation Director position. If you know anyone who is passionate about parks, recreation, trails, and open space with a penchant for teamwork and community building, please encourage them to apply.
The weather is expected to stay dry tonight for the Wolfpack's Homecoming Football Games and through Sunday for the Halloween trick-or-treating, but more rain is expected early next week. If you haven't turned your irrigation system off, PLEASE do so now!
If you decide to head out for some trick-or-treating, check out the Boys & Girls Club event, "No Tricks, Just Treats," from 5-8 PM on Sunday (flyer below). Be alert while driving for the ghouls and goblins, and follow the public health advice found below.
Jason B. Holley City Manager
P.S. Your response to this survey about Term Limits for City Council is greatly appreciated.

Fall Leaves Clean Up Reminder
🍁It’s officially fall! While we all love to see the leaves change and fall, we need to protect our storm-water systems by ensuring no leaves end up in the gutter.
The damage and harm may not be initially visible to residents, but putting leaves in the gutter negatively impacts our environment and wildlife, creating issues including localized flooding, pollution in the Napa River, and increased mosquito presence.
🍂We ask that our residents avoid blowing, raking or piling your garden’s leaves into the gutter and instead pick-up a yard waste bin from Recology Vallejo-American Canyon! That way, our beautiful fall leaves can be conveniently disposed of and composted to new soil, helping our environment instead of hurting it.
