In November 2018, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements. The bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) as well as connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). A new playground with shade and swings has been completed at lower Lincoln Regional Park, 8116 E. Escalante Road.
THE CITY OF TUCSON TO OPEN MANSFIELD POOL AND NEW WATER SLIDE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 1
City of Tucson Vice Mayor and Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Dahl and Tucson Parks and Recreation are excited to celebrate the opening of Mansfield Pool, 2275 N. 4th Ave., and its new water slide on Saturday, June 1, at 3 p.m. The pool will be open from 1-7 p.m. and a community celebration will be hosted from 3-7 p.m. Be one of the first people down the water slide and enjoy free swimming, music, food, and “Ready, Set, Rec!” with some fun water games. The pool will be open June 1-July 31. Funding for the project was secured through a combination of Tucson Delivers Great Parks + Strong Connections 2018 voter-approved general obligation bonds, Ward 3 funds, and Investment Plan funds.
CITY OF TUCSON UNVEILS NEW PLAYGROUND AT PARKVIEW PARK AND COMPLETES JULIA KEEN NEIGHBORHOOD STREET IMPROVEMENTS
City of Tucson Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres, the Department of Transportation and Mobility, and Tucson Parks and Recreation invite you to celebrate the completion of a new playground at Parkview Park and roadway improvements throughout the Julia Keen neighborhood. The ribbon-cutting event will take place at Parkview Park, 1521 S. Chrysler Ave., on Saturday, June 8, at 9 a.m. The playground was made possible through Tucson Delivers, 2018 voter-approved Proposition 407 bond funds and Impact Fees. The roadway improvement project began in January 2024 as part of the 2022 voter-approved Proposition 411 Tucson Delivers Better Streets program.
