2023 CIP - Water Main Improvements - Contract A – Project Update 9/20/23

FLORIAN DRIVE

On or about September 21, the contractor will begin transferring existing water services to the new water main. The contractor anticipates transferring 2 to 3 services per day. It will take approximately 3 days to transfer all services.

This activity consists of turning off your water for approximately 1-2 hours and constructing the necessary piping to make the connection. The contractor will notify you prior to shutting down your service. The contractor will be working diligently to make the connections as quickly as possible. As soon as the work is complete, your water service will be turned back on. The water main on Florian Drive is currently in the testing phase. Once approved, individual water services will be transferred to the new main. More information will be available once the schedule is set.

GRACELAND AVENUE

Work on Graceland Avenue is complete and the roadway has been reopened.

HARVARD STREET

The contractor will continue the concrete replacement phase. The contractor will perform saw-cuts, removals, formwork and pour concrete curb, and sidewalk.

INNER CIRCLE DRIVE

The contractor will make final water main connections to the existing system and retiring the old water main segments. In order to complete this work a water main shut down is scheduled for the following water segments:

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 - 9:00AM to 1:00PM
Inner Circle South End connection
Affected services:
Inner Circle within the South Cul-de-sac
Mount Prospect Road from Fletcher to 103 Mount Prospect

JOYCE DRIVE

Placement of topsoil and sod will begin in a few weeks. Paving of the final surface layer of asphalt will begin in a few weeks. More information about these phases of work will be available once the schedule is finalized.

MILLERS ROAD

The contractor will continue work on the concrete replacement on Millers Road.

As part of this phase, all curb, all driveway aprons, and sidewalks indicated in pink spray paint will be removed. You will be notified at a later date when driveways will be closed for replacement. Driveway access will be closed for approximately 14 days to allow for the work and cure time of the concrete. Generally, one side of the street will be completed at a time.
