Dear Partners,
We are pleased to announce the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Grant Program for Washington State. Over $33 million in combined state and federal funding is expected to be available to support public safety and security activities related to Seattle's six FIFA World Cup matches in summer 2026.
Seattle will host an estimated 750,000 visitors across six matches between mid-June and early July 2026. This one-time funding opportunity addresses current public safety and operational gaps to ensure successful, secure event operations across our region.

WHO CAN APPLY: Eligible applicants include:
- State agencies
- Local governments (cities, towns, counties, special districts, municipal corporations, port districts, etc.)
- Federally recognized Indian Tribes
Note: Nonprofit organizations and private corporations are not eligible.

WHAT'S FUNDABLE: Projects must support preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to safety and security concerns during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Funding is available across five categories:

Planning – Operational readiness, interagency coordination, emergency operation plans

Organization – Operational overtime, surge staffing

Equipment – Screening/detection systems, communications equipment, physical security barriers

Training – Crowd management, suspicious activity recognition, cultural competency, multi-agency coordination

Exercises – HSEEP-compliant exercises, scenario testing, communications drills
HOW TO APPLY: Complete application materials (see attached) and submit them to Casey Broom at caseyb@sea2026.org. Applications will be reviewed by our Grants Management Team, scored by the Project Review Committee, and approved by the Executive Steering Committee.
