Weekend Service Impacts
Weekend Construction Reroute for Route 255, 271, and ST 542; Transit service to eastside destinations will be affected by the ramp closure from Montlake Blvd E to eastbound SR 520 from Friday, August 19 at 10 p.m. to end of service on Sunday, August 21;
Event Reroute for Route 208; Transit service will be rerouted for Snoqualmie Railroad Days & Festival Parade from Friday, August 19 at 11 a.m. to end of service on Saturday, August 20;
Weekend Construction Reroute for Route 240, 249, and ST 550; Transit service will be affected in downtown Bellevue due to closure of 108th Avenue NE between NE 4th St and NE 6th St from Saturday, August 20 at 9 a.m. to Sunday, August, 21 at 6 p.m.;
Seattle Center Monorailwill operate late this weekend; Midnight on Friday, and until 11:30 on Saturday. The Monorail will depart approximately every 10 minutes;
1 Line Link Light Rail frequency will be reduced to 20 minutes between Angle Lake and Stadium stations from Friday, August 19 to Thursday, September 1. Learn more on the Sound Transit website.

Weekend festivals ahead: Grab a ride and forget about parking...
The Emerald City Comic Con is a celebration of pop culture with, fans, artist and performers from around the world.
This event will be held at Seattle Convention Center in Downtown Seattle from Friday to Sunday. Traffic and pedestrian levels may be higher than normal in these areas. Routes 7, 10, 11, 43, 49, 101, 102, 150, 162, 257, 311, ST 550 and the 1 Line service the area.
Big Day of Play is a celebration of Seattle's diversity and it encourages neighbors, communities and families to have fun, build relationships and be active together.
The event will be held at Rainier Playfields and Mt. Bakers Rowing & Sailing Center on Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. Routes 7, 9, 50, and 1 Line services the area. Traffic and pedestrian levels may be higher than normal in these areas.
The neighborhood block party will be at 1025 S King St on Saturday, August 20, 11am to 4pm! Routes 7, 14, 36, 60, 106 and 1 Line services the area.
Snoqualmie Days (formerly known as Snoqualmie Railroad Days) is the annual celebration of the Snoqualmie Valley, its people, and its culture!

Card reader screens will soon show the full suite of information when tapped. This will help riders across the region keep up on their account balance and transfer times.
Create a design for the Aurora Avenue North corridor that enhances safety, mobility, and accessibility for all travelers.
Identify potential transit service improvements and connections with nearby light rail stations, as well as safety and security improvements at transit stops.
Address the needs of residents, businesses, and other stakeholders in a unified vision for the corridor through an equitable and robust engagement process.
Consider collision history and safety challenges along the corridor, addressing the areas with the most serious collisions or collisions involving vulnerable road users.
Develop a strategy to construct corridor improvements as resources become available.
From Friday, August 19 to Thursday, September 1, the 1 Line train frequencies will be reduced to 20 minutes between Angle Lake and Stadium stations. The work requires the closure of one track at Columbia City Station, forcing all trains to use a single track between Mount Baker and Othello stations.
Trains will run approximately every 10 minutes between Northgate and Stadium stations from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. During these hours every other train heading south from Northgate will turn back at Stadium Station. The trains exterior signs will say if they are headed to SeaTac/Angle Lake or Stadium.
From 5 - 6 a.m. and from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m. trains will run every 20 minutes systemwide. No southbound trains will turn back at Stadium Station.

Hot weather means that buses may be behind schedule. Be sure to pack a water bottle, stay out of the direct sun as best as you can, and be prepared for possible delays.
Heat can impact roads and bridges and create potential delays. Using Metro Transit Alerts, you can receive information about disruptions by email or text message.
Our real-time updates can let you know when a bus trip is operating, when it is due to depart, or if it was canceled due to weather or an operator shortage:
Text for Departures is available by texting your bus stop number to 62550, and the next bus trips will be displayed with an “s” for scheduled or “canceled.”
Congrats to Metro planner Penny Lara for winning national equity award!
Penny Lara recently won a national transportation award for diversity, equity and inclusion. Lara received the award from the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), which recognizes and honors outstanding achievements that improve transportation options.
“Penny is a dedicated professional who has been a strong and consistent voice for equity and social justice,” said Transit Supervisor Ina Percival, Lara’s manager. “We are lucky and proud to have her on our team!”
Lara has dedicated more than 25 years to working with and advocating for diverse and immigrant populations on issues such as health, social justice and access to transportation. Every day, she advances and shapes Metro’s services by applying an equity lens to complex challenges.
