A New COVID-19 Tool for Your Smartphone, Vaccine Update and Eastrail Connections

With COVID-19 surging across the state and nation, Washington state has announced a new smartphone tool to help Washingtonians curb the virus’s spread. It's called WA Notify and it alerts users if they have spent time near another WA Notify user who later tests positive for COVID-19. The new smartphone feature uses privacy-preserving technology without collecting or revealing any location or personal data.

Eastrail Expands North in 2021

Earlier this week King County Parks announced that work begins this month on a new 2.5-mile Eastrail segment that will link Kirkland with Woodinville by late summer 2021. This new Eastrail section will continue north from the end of the Cross Kirkland Corridor (using the soon-to-be-completed Willows Road Connector) to NE 145th in Woodinville near the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery. In conjunction with this project, the City of Woodinville will construct a new crossing at NE 145th so trail users can easily connect to the Sammamish River Trail.
