HRSA COVID-19 Uninsured Program funding ending - other funding opportunities available

The Health Care Authority (HCA) is sending you this notification to follow-up on information sent out March 23.

Due to lack of funds, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) COVID-19 Uninsured Program will stop accepting claims on the following schedule:  

  • Testing claims: March 22, 2022, at 8:59 P.M. (Pacific)
  • Treatment claims: March 22, 2022, at 8:59 P.M. (Pacific)
  • Vaccine administration claims: April 5, 2022, at 8:59 P.M. (Pacific)

Funding available for services no longer funded by HRSA

As a reminder, you have an opportunity to apply for the Uninsured Care Expansion grant.

HCA has received $35 million in federal resources to provide health care services for uninsured and underinsured individuals under 200 percent of the federal poverty level, regardless of immigration status.

This funding will be awarded through a grant application process. The Uninsured Care Expansion Grant application is currently open, but closes at 5 p.m. on Friday April 15, 2022.

Who can apply

This grant is open to:

  • federally qualified health centers
  • rural health clinics
  • free clinics
  • public hospital districts
  • behavioral health providers or facilities
  • behavioral health administrative service organizations
  • community-based organizations
