Which medical plans are offered where?
All school employees who live in Washington State will be offered a selection of SEBB medical plans based on their county of residence. Some school employees who work in a district that crosses county lines, or are in a county that borders Idaho or Oregon, may have additional plan options. Plan options are also available for employees who live outside of Washington State based on the district for which they work. Complete lists of SEBB medical plans available by county (with plan premiums and deductibles) and medical plans available by district as presented at the July 18 SEB Board meeting are available now. More information, such as plan premiums, deductibles, and other benefits will be available on the SEBB webpages beginning September 3 and in the 2020 School Employee Initial Enrollment Guide, which should be posted the week of September 9 and will mail to employees in mid-September.
Make-up training sessions coming in September
The SEBB Program’s Outreach and Training team will host more two-day, in-person training sessions for school benefits administrators in September. The makeup training sessions, available to any benefits administrators who were unable to attend one of the 10 courses held in August, start on September 9 in Renton and Mount Vernon.
For a refresher course, or to prepare for training in September, see the PowerPoint presentations based on topics covered during the August training on the SEBB benefits administrators page on August 29.
SEBB My Account eligibility file testing
All live data eligibility files received through FUZE before 5 p.m. yesterday, August 27 were processed and run through our system, with format and record-specific errors reported to your SEBB organization. Any files received after that time, and up until 5 p.m. Friday, August 30, will be manually reviewed for errors and reported back to you.
We are completing final review of our production environment for September 3 readiness. Please remember, if you submitted a previous test file with live or mock data, that data will not be loaded in SEBB My Account on September 3. View the eligibility-related specifications.
Finalize your process for determining eligibility
As we get closer to the SEBB Program’s first annual open enrollment, October 1 through November 15, each SEBB organization should have determined which employees are eligible for SEBB benefits. Once you determine which employees are eligible, you’ll be ready to upload employee eligibility files, or manually enter eligible employees, to SEBB My Account between September 3 and 10.
If you enter and/or upload eligibility data after September 10, you may see a delay in employees’ ability to enroll online through SEBB My Account in supplemental (employee-paid) life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance as well as the Medical FSA and DCAP programs on October 1.
See our SEBB Program implementation timeline and SEBB Program implementation guide for details, and learn more about determining eligibility.
Time changed for September 18 Facebook Live event
We heard you! We changed the time of our September 18 Facebook Live event to 5 p.m. to better accommodate school employees' schedules. Employees and Retirees Benefits Division director Dave Iseminger will answer your employees’ questions about the SEBB Program during the hour-long session. If you missed our first Facebook Live event on August 21, view the recording.
Ask employees to update their mailing addresses
The School Employee Initial Enrollment Guide will mail in mid-September. To ensure employees receive this important booklet, ask them to check that their mailing address is correct in your system before September 3. Then, upload your employee eligibility file in SEBB My Account by September 10. Note: Employees will not be able to update their address in SEBB My Account.
