 Funding Opportunities closing March 6
 Remedial Action Grants
Ecology is accepting applications for three types of Remedial Action Grants (RAGs) for funding in the 2025–27 biennium.
-
Oversight remedial action grants and loans — These grants and loans help local governments investigate and clean up contaminated properties with Ecology supervision or that of the U.S Environmental Protection Agency under a legal order or decree.
-
Area-wide groundwater investigation grants — These grants help local governments investigate groundwater issues within an area of known or suspected widespread contamination.
-
Safe drinking water action grants — These grants help local governments provide safe drinking water to people living in areas affected by environmental contamination.
Review the 2025–27 RAG Guidelines and EAGL Instructions. For help choosing between area-wide groundwater investigation grants and safe drinking water grants, read the focus sheet describing the differences.
Completed applications must be submitted through Ecology's Administration of Grants & Loans (EAGL) by 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 6.
Affordable Housing Cleanup Grants
Do you have an affordable housing project in the works? Ecology's affordable housing cleanup grants (AHCG) can help. Funding is available to public, private, and nonprofit entities that are cleaning up a contaminated site with affordable housing as the end use. Cleanups must be completed under Ecology supervision.
Review the criteria in our 2025–27 affordable housing cleanup grant guidelines to learn if your project is eligible. EAGL instructions for 2025–27 AHCG applications.
To take advantage of this funding cycle, you must submit a completed application through Ecology's Administration of Grants & Loans (EAGL) by 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 6.
