News from Our Partners

The Bienestar Programs at the Women’s Initiative serves Latina women in our community over the age of 18. Walk-in clinics are available on Wednesdays from 2 - 4 PM for Spanish speakers at the main office located at 1101 E. High St., Charlottesville, VA 22902. A client can come without an appointment to talk to a bilingual therapist for a one-time wellness consult or complete an intake to get put on our waitlist for counseling. If they're unable to come to a Wednesday walk-in they can also call our Spanish phone line at 434-328-1800 to schedule an intake over the phone or in-person. The following groups will be facilitated in Spanish in November:

Nov. 15 – La Cultura Cura: Rest & Relief (in-person).
Nov. 6 through 20 – Rediscovering Me: Love without Chains (virtually via Zoom) - Screening due by Nov. 3

The Blue Ridge Health District is offering a free Infant Safety & Child CPR Class on Saturday, November 1 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Health Department (1138 Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903) in the Prindle Conference Room (enter through Door #3). This class will provide an overview of:

Common household hazards for infants and toddlers
Practical tips on baby proofing
CPR demo/Family & Friends CPR/choking prevention.

Pre-registration is required using this form. For questions, contact Diane Sampson.
