"A Summer of Change" at McLean Station

After making a large impact during their abbreviated stay at McLean Station, Captain Ferreira and Captain Libby have stepped into different roles within the police department. As McLean Station turns the page, we are pleased to welcome Major Culkin and Captain Morris. Both of these incoming Commanders bring a wealth of knowledge to our district and are eager to make a difference in our community!

McLean is "SET" to Introduce: PFC Hungarter

The McLean District Station welcomes Police Officer First Class Brian Hungarter, our newly appointed Selective Enforcement Team (SET) officer. Officer Hungarter has been with the Fairfax County Police Department for over 8 years and has 16 years of service in law enforcement. Officer Hungarter brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our roads to this position. Throughout his tenure, Officer Hungarter has demonstrated a keen understanding of traffic management strategies and a proactive approach to addressing community concerns.

In his new role, Officer Hungarter will focus on enforcing traffic laws to enhance pedestrian safety, manage traffic flow during peak hours, and respond swiftly to incidents that affect our community's well-being. His presence underscores the McLean District’s ongoing commitment to proactive community policing, enforcing laws, and engaging with residents to promote a safer environment for all. The community is encouraged to welcome Officer Hungarter and collaborate with him to address any traffic concerns, ensuring the McLean District remains a safe and enjoyable place to live, work, shop, and commute.

Crime Prevention Tip of the Month

As we enter one of the busiest travel times of the year, please remember some of these crime prevention tips to help keep your property safe while you are away: Lock your windows and doors. Turn on your alarm system (if you have one). Do not leave tools or ladders out. Make sure you put a hold on your mail. Don’t leave a spare key under the door mat or flowerpot. Ask a trusted friend or neighbor to occasionally check on your house while you are away and secure any unexpected packages. Please do not post all your movements on social media. Save the vacation sharing until after you return. Place some interior lights on timers to activate at different times. Make sure your vehicles are locked and be sure to remove any garage door openers from your vehicles.
