Safety and Security
Car Seat Inspections
Come out and get your car seat inspected from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Sully District Station (4900 Stonecroft Blvd, Chantilly).
The inspections are done on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to install the child safety seat yourself, so the inspection can be performed. The seat will be properly re-installed if necessary, and you will learn how to install the seat properly in the future.
Everyone is eligible!

January 4th and 18th
February 1st, 15th, and 29th
March 14th and 28th
Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) is FREE and seats are available!

The Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) program is an IN-PERSON interactive program for adults to be educated about the signs of risky behavior in teens and young adults. It touches on drug and alcohol use, mental health concerns, eating disorders, risky sexual behaviors and more. Registration is required.

Crisis Assistance
The application period for Crisis Assistance begins today and will end on 3/15/24. Attached to this email is the EAP Fact Sheet, EAP Information Sheet and Crisis Assistance application in both English and Spanish.
The application period for Fuel Assistance is still on-going, but the deadline is fast approaching. The last day to apply for Fuel Assistance is Monday, November 13th.
Applications for Energy Assistance are accepted in the following ways:

Evidenced-Based Treatments for Youth Mental Health Concerns and Life-Saving Prevention Strategies: A Caregiver's Guide
January 10, 2024, 6 – 8 p.m. Bailey’s Community Center- 5920 Summers Lane, Falls Church, VA 22041 Parents and caregivers are invited to join Dr. Christy Esposito-Smythers, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in treatment of adolescent suicidality, depression, and substance abuse to learn more about evidence-based treatments, community resources and the impact caregivers can have on youth mental health and suicide/overdose prevention.

- Submissions should be timely and occurring in the upcoming month. For ongoing needs or services, we reserve the right to hold for future issues.

All submissions should have no more than a 3-line description of the event and include a link for more information or to register.
- The event must be open to the entire community.
- Proselytizing events/activities will not be posted.
- Events must be apolitical. Legislative lobbying efforts will not be posted.
- Fundraisers or events soliciting financial contributions will not be posted.
- Events must be geared to promoting understanding, goodwill, community service or fulfilling a defined need in helping strengthen Fairfax County residents and communities.
