 Housing Waiting List Opening for Seniors
Please join us in sharing information with seniors aged 62 years and older that the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is opening waiting lists for four (4) Project Based Voucher (PBV) properties at Chesterbrook Senior in:
Falls Church, Lake Anna House in Reston
Oakwood Meadow Senior Residences in Alexandria
Residences at North Hill in Alexandria.
Public notices will run in local news outlets from June 22nd to July 6th. However, applicants have a one-week enrollment period from July 10th to July 16th to register.
The Project Based Voucher program (PBV) is a subsidized rental housing program with the county paying a portion of the rent, while the individual or family pays their portion up to 35% of adjusted gross income. The subsidy is attached to the PBV unit and stays in place, even after the participant moves. To be considered for PBV units, an applicant must register online at Rent Café’ for an opportunity to be placed on each PBV property waiting list. All applicants will be randomly selected for placement on the waiting lists. All applications received have an equal opportunity to be selected for the waiting lists. Once a vacancy at a property is available, waiting list applicants will be screened for continued interest and eligibility. Please see flyers below for more information.
