Schools and school offices will be closed March 30 to April 3 for spring break. Monday, April 6, is a teacher work day and there will be no school for students. We wish our students and teachers a happy and restful Spring Break! See the complete school year calendar.

Community Peer Program
Deer Park Elementary School is pleased to announce that we will have community peers in our preschool program. The Community Peer Program provides an opportunity for preschoolers with all abilities to work and play on a regular basis.
Our program will invite community peers, who are aged 3 - 4 years old, to join our classroom. The early childhood special education program uses a child-centered approach to learning. The goal of this program is to encourage active learning and promote social interaction and acceptance.
Please complete the attached interest form or Families Interested in Community Peer Program Google Form if you would like your 3-4 year old child to be considered for the Community Peer Program.

Celebrate Deer Park Week
Please check your child's Thursday folder today for the paper student doll/flag we are asking families to decorate representing your favorite foods, sports, a flag to show your family's heritage, your hobbies, etc.
Please do not cut out the doll. Dolls will be displayed during our Celebrate DP Week, April 20-24, 2026.
Please return the doll to your child's classroom teacher by Friday, April 10th, 2026. (dolls will not be returned)

Literacy Packets in 3/19 Thursday Folders
We are excited to have our winter testing window finally close. The students have been working hard. In the Thursday folder on March 19th, you should have found either a packet with a white cover indicating your child is on a reading plan or a packet with a pink cover indicating your child is not on a reading plan.
The packet included the results of your student’s literacy assessments. Please return the white page to indicate that you have received the plan and make a selection to indicate if there are any questions. When we receive your form indicating a question, someone from the Literacy team will reach out to you. In addition, families with student on reading plans should have received an email from NO REPLY with the plan and progress monitoring graph included on Wednesday March 18th or Thursday March 19th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or a member of the literacy team if you have any questions.

Westfield Theatre Spring Workshop
Westfield Theatre is offering a free workshop opportunity for students in Grades 2 to 8 on April 10th from 10am to noon.
Students will play theatre games, take a backstage tour and enjoy an immersive theatre experience.
