🌎Sangster's Family Cultural Night

Sangster's Annual Family Cultural Night April 15

Join us for our 3rd annual Family Cultural Night on Wednesday, April 15, from 6 pm – 7:30 pm!

Come celebrate the personal connections, rich cultures, and traditions of our Sangster families.

In preparation for Family Cultural Night, all students are invited to create a paper doll dressed in clothing of their family’s traditions or personal connections to a culture. This might include garments like saris, kimonos, hanboks, dashikis, kilts, military uniforms or any other dress. You are welcome to combine multiple cultures into one doll or to decorate an additional doll - just ask for one in the main office.

Paper dolls were sent home in Thursday folders. Completed paper dolls will be displayed in the front lobby of Sangster. Please include your child’s first and last name and classroom teacher if you would like it returned after the event.

Families are also invited to share their culture on the evening of April 15 by signing up to create a display with bite-sized food samples and/or participating in a student fashion show.

Ramadan: Google Form For Students Who are Fasting

For the month of Ramadan, Sangster will provide a comfortable and quiet space for students who are fasting during lunch as an alternative to the cafeteria.

Please use this form to request that your student spend their lunch time in a designated quiet area. This space will allow them to rest, read, or engage in quiet activities in an area that is supervised.

Fasting? Take a Meal Kit Home!

FCPS is offering take-home meal kits for students fasting for Ramadan.

Parents must fill out a form for each student every week, and students will pick up the kits at the end of each school day.

Meal kits are charged just like school meals and include the same healthy, fresh food from the school menu. For more information and to fill out the forms, visit fcps.edu/food.
