Dear Sangster families,
Our Science Fair is happening now! I hope the children are enjoying seeing all the great work doing the school day. The parents' night was tonight; hopefully you managed to stop by and see all the great displays. Please also make sure to pickup your child's work on March 4.
Our annual Purple Up Fun Run is just over a month away. Please see details below and register early to ensure you get a t-shirt.
Details of open roles for the 2026–2027 school year can be found below. Due to term limits and kids moving on from Sangster, we need to fill some critical roles. We must fill the President and Secretary role if we want to have a PTA next year, so please consider volunteering.

Course: 1.5 miles, with marked distances for all levels
Staggered Start Times:

Packet Pickup: Race morning at the school’s registration tables starting at 8:30 a.m.
Other Details:
- Water & concessions available
- Park in school lot/neighborhood
- No pets on school grounds
- Playground closed during the event
We are always looking for volunteers! Please take the time to complete the FCPS Volunteer Screening and fill out the Google Volunteer form so that we can add you to our email distribution list.
Sangster Administration has a need for library volunteers and cafe volunteers as well as occasional opportunities like picture day, field day, etc. Please complete the FCPS Volunteer screening to be considered for these events. Opportunities go out to the email list and also get posted to Facebook.

2026–2027 PTA Board

President: The PTA President provides strategic leadership and oversight for the PTA, guiding goals, ensuring compliance with bylaws, and partnering with school administrators to lead the PTA. They facilitate executive and general meetings, coordinate board activities, and serve as the primary representative and spokesperson for the PTA within the school community.

Secretary: The PTA Secretary coordinates and manages all virtual meeting logistics, including scheduling, distributing links, and gathering slides for the monthly PTA meeting. They prepare and present the approved PowerPoint for each meeting. The Secretary records accurate minutes and ensures approved minutes and Zoom recordings are delivered for online posting within four days of each General Membership meeting.

Spirit Wear: The PTA Spirit Wear Coordinator manages the selection, ordering, and distribution of school-branded apparel while coordinating sales campaigns and communication with families to support fundraising goals.

Science Fair: Responsible for organizing and overseeing all aspects of a school science fair, including project registration, student support, logistics management, and communication with parents, teachers, and administrators

Bulletin Board: Maintains and refreshes the school’s PTA bulletin board with timely, accurate information, ensuring displays are updated at least monthly to highlight events, announcements, and volunteer opportunities.

Sangster Parents Facebook Group
You are invited to join the unofficial Facebook group for the Sangster community, Sangster Parents. Please note that anyone who requests to join, including someone added by an existing group member, must answer the membership questions and check the box indicating agreement to abide by the group rules.
