Roadrunner Rundown

December 2, 2024

Principal's Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed time with family and friends.

As we turn our calendars to December, we have three weeks that will be filled with much learning and many opportunities for growth. This month also includes enjoyable classroom activities and school events such as our Winter Concert which is taking place on Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30 pm. Details can be found below.

The Winter Break is December 23-January 3. We will be at our best if all students attend all of the 15 days prior to break and vacation during the provided vacation time. In the new year please try to line up vacations and doctor appointments with the FCPS calendar.

Monday, December 9, is our next 3 hour early release. If you have not already done so, please complete this form indicating your plan for the remaining five Early Release Days. This choice serves as your decision for the early releases on December 9, February 24, March 17, April 28 and May 19. For those who have students enrolled in pm SACC programs, SACC will open at 1:05 pm on the early release days.

Have a great week.

Holiday Gifts/Class Gifts for Teachers and Staff

This time of year, many families like to show their appreciation to the incredible MRES staff. There are many different ways to thank the staff. As in previous years, we are giving families the option to participate in GiftCrowd. Click here to leave a gift and note for any staff member that has made a difference for your family.

The minimum contribution is $2. Every participant will be able to see the list of participants, however, the individual contribution amounts will not be visible. Each recipient will be able to see all of the messages and redeem their gifts for one or more gift cards (including Amazon, Target, Walmart, or many others).

NEW this year: we created teams for some staff members who may not always be in the spotlight, so please consider contributing to those teams as well.

  • Members in each team can be found here.
  • Gifts will be automatically split evenly between the members in the           group as soon as the gift collection ends.

The gifts collection ends on December 20 7:00 am ET.  At that time, the gifts will be sent to their respective recipients.

Questions? Email Monica at president@marshallroadpta.org.
