First Early Release Monday on 9/23
The reason for the early release Mondays is so that classroom teachers can complete up to 27 hours of additional training on evidenced based literacy instruction required by the Virginia Literacy Act.
Our first early release Monday will be next Monday, September 23. For students whose families have indicated that they will be dismissed at 1:05, they will depart school in the same manner that they do on usual days.
For the families who indicated that their child needs afterschool supervision by Haycock staff, those students will remain at Haycock until 4:05 and depart school in the same manner that they do on usual days.
There are a small number of families who we have not heard back from. Our office staff is calling those families to learn their plan for their student(s) on 9/23. We want to make sure that we know the plan for every one of our students to ensure their safety.
If your child is a bus rider, instead of using the Here Comes the Bus App on the early Mondays, use https://busdelay.fcps.edu/
For those students who attend afterschool SACC, we have received confirmation that SACC will be available at 1:05 beginning with the October 18 early release Monday.
From September 15 to October 15, FCPS recognizes and celebrates the histories and cultures of the members of our community who trace their heritage to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS. Learn more about National Hispanic Heritage Month. At Haycock, we will be celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month in many different ways and throughout our school.

🍽️ Fueling Student Success: New Food Options Cooked up at FCPS
Students will have more than a dozen new options for lunch and breakfast in school cafeterias starting this week. New menu items were either favorites at last year’s food show — including Korean BBQ wings, sweet Thai chili wings, chicken tikka masala, and barbacoa street tacos — or were tested with student focus groups and tastings.
View school menus to see all the new options and when they will become available.
