BEFORE SCHOOL Spanish Language Program 2024-2025
The Children’s Center for Language and Culture, Inc. (ChiCeLaCu!) in partnership with the GFES PTA is pleased to offer the Spanish Program for its 12th consecutive year. ChiCeLaCu’s goal is to cement a strong language foundation, ultimately enabling students to become proficient Spanish speakers. The program combines the arts with dynamic and interactive teaching approaches to make this a truly fun and effective experience. As a long-term program, children are expected to achieve language proficiency in 4-5 years of participation in the program. Students begin at Beginner Levels 1 and 2 and move to the intermediate and advanced levels as they progress through their school years. The class is held from 7:45 AM to 8:35 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning on September 16th, 2024 and ending on May 7th, 2025. ChiCeLaCu! follows the FCPS calendar with respect to teacher workdays, holidays, and school cancellations. To register, follow this link:

GFES PTA Spirit Day with Chick-Fil-A MAY 24th!!
Mark your calendars! Our final spirit day for the 2023-2024 school year will be Friday May 24th with the North Point Village Chick-Fil-A (1494 North Point Village Center, Reston, VA 20194)! You can order by placing a mobile pickup, dine-in, Drive-thru, or curbside order from 7am - 8pm.
You get to enjoy a great meal or snack and the PTA will receive 25% of all sales when you use the code 'ROADRUNNER' while using the Chick-Fil-A app. If you are dining in or ordering through the drive-thru, mention you are ordering for the Great Falls PTA spirit event for the PTA to receive 25% of sales!
Recap from the Japan Bowl
A big CONGRATULATIONS to all 25 Great Falls students who competed in the 8th annual Junior Japan Bowl on April 26, 2024. Great Falls teams took first place in the Level 1 division (Grades 1-3) and first and third place in the Level 2 division (Grades 4-6). This is the fourth time in four years that GFES teams have taken first place in both divisions. Great Falls students also placed first in the individual competition for Level 1 and first, second and third place in the Level 2 division. 88 teams and 222 Level 1 students and 85 teams and 204 Level 2 students from 26 school participated in the national academic competition this year.
Congrats Let Me Run 5K Runners!
So proud of our GFES Let Me Run boys who completed their Spring 5k on Saturday, May 4th. Despite the pouring rain, the kids (and parents!) showed up and ran with excitement. The boys concluded the season with a celebration and medal ceremony, and a fan favorite - dodgeball. Thank you to Anna Caputo, head coach, as well as Patrick Kelly & Bob Morean, assistant coaches, for a wonderful season. Fall of 2024 season will be right around the corner!

The Langley High School Chorus proudly presents "The Magical Music of Disney" – a spectacular showcase of your favorite Disney tunes, brought to life by our talented chorus members on May 15th and 16th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase at langleychorus.thundertix.com. General admission is $10 for adults and just $5 for students. Additionally, FCPS Faculty/Staff members are entitled to two complimentary tickets each. Students adorned in Disney costumes will receive FREE admission to this unforgettable event! Can't plan ahead? Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Get ready to sing, dance, and relive the magic of Disney with the Langley High School Chorus!
