In honor of National Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month, we invite all community members to create a short video that answers the question, "How does language connect us?" Great Falls ES Attendance Update

For the week ending on May 3, 2024, our overall Chronic Absenteeism rate is 8.9% which is a DECREASE from our 20.4% rate on May 3rd of last year.  We sincerely appreciate all you're doing to support our ability to keep this rate down.  

Please don't hesitate to check ParentVue or call the school should you be interested in knowing your child's absentee data as we end the school year strong!


Sister School Book Drive – Thank You!

THANK YOU very much for your generous donations to the 2024 Sister School Book Drive! Thanks to your contributions, we were able to donate several hundred books to the students and families at Glen Forest Elementary. The recipients were thrilled and grateful to receive the books. Thank you for your generous support!

Congrats Japan Bowl Participants!

GFES teams took top honors in level 1 and level 2 of the Japan Bowl this year! The GFES Ninja Cats and Flying Tacos placed first with the GFES Doggos placing third in level 2. Top individual honors also went to GFES students, with  roadrunners placing 1st and 6th overall for level one as well as taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th place overall in level 2! Our JIP students competed virtually with students from around the country who are also studying Japanese culture and language. We are so proud of our students and their hard work!

Great Falls Library Visitor

Jennifer Schrott-Crisman, the public librarian at Great Falls public library will be visiting our school on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 to introduce our students to their fun-filled Summer Reading Program.

Jennifer will share information about the program's theme, exciting activities, and how students can participate. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about the library's resources and discover the joy of reading throughout the summer break.

Magical Music of Disney

The Langley High School Chorus proudly presents "The Magical Music of Disney" – a spectacular showcase of your favorite Disney tunes, brought to life by our talented chorus members on May 15th and 16th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase at langleychorus.thundertix.com. General admission is $10 for adults and just $5 for students. Additionally, FCPS Faculty/Staff members are entitled to two complimentary tickets each. Students adorned in Disney costumes will receive FREE admission to this unforgettable event! Can't plan ahead? Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Get ready to sing, dance, and relive the magic of Disney with the Langley High School Chorus!


Dear GFES 3rd-6th grade families,

I am reaching out with an exciting opportunity for students interested in singing and choir!

The South Loudoun Youth Chorale is offering their first ever elementary school choir camp for rising 4th-6th grade students and it will be taught by yours truly, Mrs. Forrest! Camp will take place July 15-19 at Willard Middle School (40915 Braddock Rd, Aldie, VA 20105) from 12pm-4pm each day. SLYC also offers a camp for rising 7-12th grade students.
