Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 6th - 10th! During the week, we plan to show our amazing GFES staff that there is NO ONE BATTER!

Each homeroom class has been assigned 2-3 other staff members to recognize during Teacher Appreciation Week. Please consider sharing the love with all these amazing GFES teachers, specialists, and support staff! Girls on the Run Practice 5K Invitation
The Girls on the Run program invites students, parents and GFES community to join their practice 5K on Thursday, May 9th. The practice 5K will start promptly at 7:30am on the GFES track. The goal is to complete 17 laps before 8:30am. Come out, cheer and support the GOTR team! See you there!

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to our Diversity Showcase! It was a wonderful night filled with great performances and fun and interactive country booths!! Thank you so much to everyone who set up a booth and performed - we couldn’t have done it without you!
A special thank you to Nadia Nachawati and Melissa Grant for helping to make the night such a success and thank you to all of the volunteers who helped hang up and take down the artwork!
BOOK FAIR Success and Kudos!
Thank you for supporting our spring Book Fair! Our sales totaled over $16,000, and the library was abuzz all week with the students’ excitement. We’re also grateful for your contributions to our Teacher Wishlist fund; your generosity gifted 125 books to teachers for their classroom libraries!
The Fair would not have been possible without our amazing parent volunteers, as well as the support of Mrs. Botha and other school staff – thank you, everyone! Last, but not least, a huge THANK YOU to Neda Doremus for her leadership as Co-Chair for the past two years.
Sister School Book Drive - Thank you!
THANK YOU very much for your generous donations to the 2024 Sister School Book Drive! Thanks to your contributions, we were able to donate several hundred books to the students and families at Glen Forest Elementary. The recipients were thrilled and grateful to receive the books. Thank you for your generous support!.
 
Parent University with GFES Mental Health Team
Our school's mental health team hosted the first Parent University on April 5th.

Get more involved with the PTA for 2024-2025
Do you want to become more involved in the PTA? We are working on building a strong team of leaders for the 2024-2025 school year and need your help! Our nominating committee would love to hear from anyone interested in taking on any of the PTA committee chair positions! Serving on the PTA is a great way to meet other GFES parents and give your input on events, activities, and fundraising opportunities. Community Offering:
The Langley High School Chorus proudly presents "The Magical Music of Disney" – a spectacular showcase of your favorite Disney tunes, brought to life by our talented chorus members on May 15th and 16th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase at langleychorus.thundertix.com. General admission is $10 for adults and just $5 for students. Additionally, FCPS Faculty/Staff members are entitled to two complimentary tickets each. Students adorned in Disney costumes will receive FREE admission to this unforgettable event! Can't plan ahead? Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Get ready to sing, dance, and relive the magic of Disney with the Langley High School Chorus!
