Principal Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

We hope you enjoyed the long weekend.  Teachers were engaged in personal development activities, parent conferences and preparing for the 2nd quarter the past two days.  We enter this new quarter with much anticipation as we grow and learn together.

Our Runathon is this Friday, November 10.  We hope you can join us as we cheer for our roadrunners.  Please remind your children to turn in their envelopes whether they raised money or not and they will be included in a raffle.  Students will be running by grade and the schedule is below.

  • Grades K, 2 - 10:00 am-11:00 am
  • Grades 4, 5, 6 - 11:15 am-12:15 pm
  • Grades 1, 3 - 1:45 pm-2:45 pm

We want to pause and say thank you to all of the veterans that are part of our Marshall Road Community.  Your sacrifice and that of your family is priceless and we are forever grateful.

Much peace.

PTA Update

Join us for the 13th Annual Runathon & Support Marshall Road!

The 13th Annual Runathon is this Friday, November 10th.  Students, teachers, and parents/caregivers will be running laps during the school day to earn money for our school!  This is our ONE main fundraiser of the year and money raised supports the PTA’s programs throughout the year, including community events (like our Family Picnics, Bike/Walk/Run to Breakfast, International Night, STEAM Night, and Ice Cream Social), author visits, classroom grants, teacher appreciation, and much more!  Your contributions will help support every one of these programs, as well as every student, teacher, and staff member at Marshall Road!  Please visit our Runathon website to learn more and make a tax-deductible donation!

We hope you can come out and join us this Friday!  You are welcome to run laps with your student or cheer on our runners.  Simply come to the fields behind the school at your student's assigned time.  Questions?  Please email runathon@marshallroadpta.org

Note: Every student will receive a free Runathon shirt to wear on Friday.  Some teachers will send it home with students on Thursday and others will have students keep it at school, so they don’t forget it.  Please also remember to send a reusable water bottle with your student on Friday.

National Family Engagement Month

November is National Family Engagement Month!  This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers.  Over 35 years of research shows that the most effective way to increase student achievement is for families to be actively involved in their children's education.  Family engagement is a shared responsibility between home, school, and the community.  The importance of family engagement will be highlighted during the month of November as we celebrate and strengthen family-school partnerships together.

The Family and School Partnerships Office has provided suggested activities and resources for the Family Engagement Month for schools and families to celebrate this month together. More ideas for families can be found in the calendar.
