Each year FCPS receives approximately $3 Million federal Impact Aid grants based on the number of federally connected students that attend FCPS schools. To calculate these funds, FCPS uses the Student-Parent Federal Impact Aid Survey.
The surveys are to be completed online through ParentVue this year. The survey will be on ParentVue beginning Monday, October 16. Once logged in, please select the “Online Packets” tab at the top, then select “Federal Impact Aid Survey” from the drop down menu. The deadline for online surveys is Monday, October 30.
For questions regarding the Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid, please call 703-329-7750 or email ImpactAid@fcps.edu or visit https://www.fcps.edu/impact. Additional information about Impact Aid programs and grants is available on the U.S. Department of Education's website at DoED Impact Aid Programs.
Have questions or need a ParentVue account? Contact Jill Boddie, LCES Student Information Assistant/Registrar by email: jwboddie@fcps.edu.

Mark your calendars for an exciting week ahead! From October 16-20, we will be celebrating our Digital Citizenship Week with a host of fun activities.
Each day of the week has a unique theme that encourages us to remember important aspects of being responsible and respectful digital citizens.
We hope you're as excited as we are about this Digital Citizenship Week. Let's make it a week to remember!
Beginning next Wednesday, October 18th students in grades 1-6 will begin receiving targeted instruction during our state-mandated literacy block. The 30-minute literacy block will occur outside of the regular Language Arts block and is designed to tailor support based on student need. Since fall literacy assessment data was used to carefully place each student into a group with similar needs, some students may receive instruction from another teacher on their grade level. It is our hope that by providing highly specialized instruction, all students will make growth towards reading proficiency. Please reach out to Brittany Poole at bcpoole@fcps.edu with any questions regarding our new, exciting approach to literacy!
For more information regarding the Virginia Literacy Act, please refer to our slides from this week’s PTA Parent Coffee!
Come on out Friday, October 20th at 7:00pm to support the Chantilly Chargers as they face the Centreville Wildcats for Chantilly Football Pyramid Night!
Join the Eco Team! Help to plan the environmental agenda for our school. We will be carrying out conservation activities for our school throughout the year. We meet on Mondays from 3:45-4:30 in the 5-6 pod, starting on October 30. Get your art supplies ready because the NOAA Marine Debris Program Art Contest is almost here! Students in grades K-8 from the United States and U.S. territories can submit their artwork starting October 16 that answers how marine debris impacts the ocean and Great Lakes and what you are doing to help prevent marine debris. Submit your artwork and you could see it featured in our 2025 Marine Debris Calendar! More information and submission details can be found on the Marine Debris Program Website.
Hallowingo is coming up on Friday, October 27! We are currently requesting prize donations for the BINGO game. Any small gift item or leftover party favor items would be greatly appreciated! Please drop off donations in the Lees Corner front office. Thanks for your support!
