The 6th Grade Committee would like to extend our heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our 6th Grade Basketball Game an enormous success!
There's no better place to start with than our AMAZING basketball teams, pep squad, chorus and mascots. The time and dedication these groups put in really showed. It was such a pleasure to watch them sing, cheer, play and support each other. The preparation and planning orchestrated by our amazing coaches was instrumental in showing our students teamwork, sportsmanship and the love of the game.
-
CHORUS: The FEES chorus, co-led by Forest Edge's own Music Teacher, Jaielle Manning, joined the Lake Anne chorus in singing the National Anthem before the game! What an impressive group. Very proud of our students for their commitment to practicing and joining a combined chorus. You sang beautifully and made your school proud!
-
PEP SQUAD: Our Pep Squad was led by Forest Edge's own 3rd Grade Teacher, Sierra Ross! She and the squad worked tirelessly on their cheers and even perfected the "Cheer Tunnel" for when our players were introduced! You guys looked AMAZING. These kids brought the energy -- thanks for keeping the crowd going! Our feet are still stomping...
-
TEACHERS' TEAM: Our teachers' team was led by Forest Edge's own PE Teacher, Dave Winfree! This team showed us what they're really made of; grace, patience, and determination. We could not be prouder of you guys. You showed us the real definition of a "role model"!
-
GIRLS' TEAM: Our girls' team was led by FEES parent, Isadora Guerreiro, along with Assistant Coaches, Mina Garcia and Aseil Hassan. Wow! Wow! Wow! These girls brought it. Outstanding game ladies. We're so proud of you!
-
BOYS' TEAM: Our boys' team was led by FEES parent, Walid Choueiri, along with Assistant Coach, Charlie Grinnan. Whoop-whoop! These boys brought the fire! Congratulations guys! What an incredible game to close out the night.
-
MASCOTS: A special THANK YOU to our three 6th Grade mascots who led the teams out on the court, gave out lots of hugs to everyone who wanted to say "Hi" to the Eagle, and joined the Pep Squad in keeping the crowd energized. We could reveal their identities, but where's the fun in that?
Off the court we were surrounded by some AMAZING volunteers who made the event go off without a hitch. We know that volunteering takes time away from work, family, & community commitments and we were incredibly lucky to have some amazing volunteers...
-

Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events—including orientation—in the Spring during March or April. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources on hand that they need on the first day of school.
After determining which school their child will attend, families should prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms, details can be found on the FCPS kindergarten registration webpage. FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, visit the kindergarten registration webpage.
