Make-up Pictures!

Make-up Picture Day is scheduled for Friday, October 21st.

They will take place in the Lecture Hall, located to the left of the Cafeteria.

This opportunity is for students who:

  • were absent during initial school picture days on September 12th and 13th
  • are new to the school, or
  • were not happy with their original package (students are required to return their original picture package to the photographer).

These students who have PE on Friday (Blue Day - Blocks 2, 4, 6, or 7) will report to the Lecture Hall during their PE class on Friday.

These students who do NOT have PE on Friday will leave their class (whatever it may be) and report to the Lecture Hall on Friday according to the schedule below:

  • Block 2: Bellis / Jones
  • Block 4: Loop / Lorenz
  • Block 6: Rastrick / Scherer

(They should not report to their PE teacher at this time.  They should report to the Lecture Hall to have their picture taken.)

Staff will have a list of the students who were absent September 12th or 13th or who enrolled after those dates.  If they are not on that list, they must have their original pictures with them to be permitted to leave class for a retake.

If you would like to order pictures, please use this link: https://vando.imagequix.com/g1000947132

Parents/Guardians can contact the photographer directly at underclass@vosphoto.com with questions.  If it is a school-based question, please email Sarah Letina at scletina@fcps.edu.

Newsletter for military-connected families:

Superintendent Reid met with military-connected families last week to discuss how together we can support the unique needs of their students. The conversation focused on how to work together to share resources between our schools and military services. They also talked about building community and relationships that support military-connected students, while building understanding of the military-student experience among their peers.

Each month, the Office of Family and School Partnerships sends out a newsletter for military-connected families. If interested, please sign up for that newsletter (under “Division Administration News and Updates” then “Professional Learning & Family Engagement”) or other topics on the FCPS website.

Opioid Awareness

Dr. Reid sent an Opioid Letter to families that is linked on the district website HERE.  Please take some time to:

  • read about tips for keeping children safe,
  • register for a webinar on "Everything You Need to Know About Opioids" that will be held live on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. (you may opt to register to receive the recorded version instead), and
  • learn about additional Fairfax County resources.
