UPDATE: IB Information Night for Families of Rising 9th Students Graders Now Virtual
Based on the rising Covid case numbers due to the omicron variant and guidance from FCPS, the IB Information Presentation for rising 9th grade families will now be virtual. The IB Coordinators had originally hoped to hold an in person event but this event will now be virtual only. FCPS has published the following guidance “Large group in-person gatherings are discouraged at this time to include parent curriculum nights” (FCPS, Preparing to Return from Winter Break,12.30.21).
The time and date for this event are the same, Thursday, January 13th, 2022 at 7 PM. This is a synchronous, virtual event. All rising ninth grade families will receive a Zoom link to join the presentation via the E-notify email system. The presentation will be recorded and all presentation materials will be emailed after the event if you are not able to attend virtually. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an Advanced Academics program available to all Robinson students in high school. The IB Coordinators will be sharing information to consider for 9th and 10th grade schedule planning and the details of the IB program.
If you have questions about this event, please contact the IB Coordinators (Holly Cho, htcho@fcps.edu) and Wendy Vu (wmvu@fcps.edu). 703.426.6949 (office)
The International Baccalaureate program at Robinson is a program of studies that is highly engaging, rigorous and asks students to be at the heart of the learning. Students will learn not only how to understand complex information and skills, but also how those skills and content apply to the larger world.
During this presentation, we will provide links to a previously recorded overview of high school course selections at Robinson. We will also add a link to these presentations the following day to our school website, found by clicking here.
