Dear Haycock Families,
It's been an exciting week as we welcomed our in person first and second grade students into the building. We look forward to welcoming our grades 3-6 in person students beginning on March 16.
We held a Town Hall for the parents of our person students grade 3-6 on Thursday evening. If you were unable to attend this Town Hall, here are the presentation slides.
On Thursday, we learned that we have been given the go ahead for students to use the playground apparatus during recess. This is wonderful news! Students must use hand sanitizer immediately prior to and immediately after using the playground equipment.
Although much of the information that I have shared with you over the past few weeks has been about our in person return to the building, our students remaining virtual are part of our Haycock family and we continue to work on ways that we can make all of our students feel important, included, and cherished. We are one Haycock!
I look forward to returning to the morning news with the monthly puzzler for our Haycock Cougars. I am always amazed by their willingness to try hard things and to share their creative problem solving skills.
With appreciation for your continued partnership and support,
Dr. Liz Beaty
Principal

Your Views and Opinions Are Important to Us!
This spring, all Haycock Elementary parents/guardians will be contacted through email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online.
This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources management, organizational management, communication and community relations and professionalism. Understanding that this has been an unusual year, the impacts of COVID-19 will be taken into consideration when reviewing the feedback. The questionnaire will be collected online between March 8 and March 19. When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your opinions matter!
FCPS CARES Award
The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story below, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees. For more information and to fill out a nomination, please visit the CARES Award page.
