Hi Frost Families, I am Deb Metzker (After School Program Specialist) and I am happy to announce that the Frost After School Program Starts Today, Monday, October 5th!
Students will be able to join live (synchronous) club meetings during after-school hours beginning at 3:00-3:30 (see Club List for start times).
- Parents need to register their son/daughter, giving them permission to participate. Here is the After School Program Registration Form link: https://forms.gle/WVP9BxHLFEYFkw2w7
- Students need to join the After School Google classroom (join code is Re4u7i2).
- In the After School Google Classroom, they will find the club list, club descriptions, important announcements and activities they can do on their own (asynchronous activities).
- The platform we are using for After School this year will be Google Meet. Students will need to join each Club Google Classroom for every club they want to participate in. They will find information and announcements posted for the students that participate in that specific club. Meet links will be posted in the Club Google Classroom each week approximately 10 minutes before the club begins so students can join the live session. - We are sharing programming with Lake Braddock, Robinson, Irving and South County Middle Schools. What this means - staff from all 5 middle schools will offer clubs and activities for students from all 5 schools. Frost will also have some clubs that are for Frost students only. These shared clubs are identified on both the Club List and Club Descriptions.

MATH COUNTS Announcement
Read the attached MathCounts 2020/21 flyer to get information on what steps need to be taken to participate.

How can I sign up? Join our Math Counts Google classroom at “rjctx35”. Look over and try the Practice Problem Set 1 and check your answers. Indicate your interest by completing the Google form found in the Google Classwork by Oct. 13th.

How do I know if I am selected by the lottery for the practice competitions? We will email you by Friday Oct. 16th regarding selection and tell you whether or not you were chosen by lottery. Lottery selectees should attend a google meet meeting on Monday, Oct 19th at 11-11:30 am or 2:00 -2:30 pm for further information and an opportunity to ask questions.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD Announcement
If students are interested in participating in Science Olympiad, they need to complete an interest form by 4:00pm on Wednesday, October 7th, and attend the interest meeting which will be held on October 7th at 6:00.

***Good news, Model United Nations (MUN) is happening! Next week, I will send out information for an Interest Form for students to complete and a date for the Interest meeting – so stay tuned!
