Paw Print News 6/5

see you soon

Dear Poplar Tree Families,

It has certainly been a hard week, and I am committed to the belief that we must take care of each other and every member of our school community. As our students say, "Kindness begins with me, here at Poplar Tree". Every individual member must be seen, heard, and championed. Hate has no place at Poplar Tree ES. I echo the words of our Superintendent, Dr. Brabrand as he shared with FCPS staff, “we see you, we believe in you, and we stand with you.”

The 2019-20 school year will certainly be one to remember. Another reason to remember this year will be the school closure due to COVID 19, and I hope we also remember this school year for many other reasons too. Let's remember the laughter, the excitement of learning something new, the teamwork between students and teachers, and our ability to persevere when challenges came our way. As a school community we have so much to celebrate! I am incredibly proud of our PTES staff for working diligently throughout this year and for rising to the challenges that we faced. I also want to thank our families for their support both at home and in participating in school events/activities. It takes an outstanding team to have a great school, and we have one of the best at Poplar Tree.

This will be the last official Paw Print for the 2019-20 school year. I will continue to send updates throughout the summer.

Have a wonderful weekend and summer!

Stay safe and healthy,

Sue Andujar, Principal
